Artist and environmental advocate, Betsy Damon, will facilitate a visioning workshop to discuss and brainstorm potential public art installations for the French Broad River watershed, and planned for installation in the 14 Riverside Drive vicinity. (Free and open to the public)

Beginning with the creation of Keepers of the Waters in 1991, Betsy has worked towards creating community based models of water stewardship. Her work includes sculpture, teaching, lectures and workshops. In China, she created the nation’s first public art event for the environment, and most notably the Living Water Garden, a world renowned public park and natural water filtration model. In the US, she is continuously working with communities and grassroots groups, as well as completing art/ design commissions.

You Helped Make Our First Year a Success! 

Over the month of April, 733 people volunteered their time with 23 nonprofit groups to take part in 58 workdays and service opportunities throughout WNC!  Our business and community challenge also brought 11 business teams and community groups into the fold.
