Join Southern Appalachian Highlands Conservancy for a volunteer workday at our Community Farm fifteen minutes outside of Asheville.  Volunteers will focus on planting a pollinator garden by our farm house.  We will plant all-native species to create habitat for wildlife — especially pollinators like birds and bees!

After we finish working and eat lunch (please bring your own packed lunch), participants will have an opportunity to walk along the 1.5-mile Discovery Trail to see our local bee hives and learn about other ongoing projects. The 103-acre Community Farm property was donated to SAHC in 2010. The protected land is home to SAHC’s Farmer Incubator Program, as well as multiple habitat restoration projects.  Our Community Farm serves as an innovative model — balancing agricultural production with environmental responsibility while providing educational opportunities.
