Get Competitve 2018-05-02T22:24:59+00:00

Get Competitive. Earn Points. Save the Planet.

The Business & Community Challenge is an opportunity for people to work together in teams to earn Planet Points by participating in service projects. The challenge is open to area businesses, civic organizations and community groups, who can recruit teams from among their members to compete for prizes and bragging rights.

The way it works is that your group commits to a service project on a given day, for example a river cleanup on the French Broad River. Then one of our partner nonprofit organizations will provide the guidance and equipment you’ll need for a day of working on behalf of a cleaner and greener WNC. As your group does the work, you earn Planet Points according to how much you accomplish (how much trash you collect, how many trees you plant, etc.). We determine your team’s score on a per-person basis and at the end of the month we rank your team against other teams to see who is the REAL Captain Planet!

The harder your team works, the more points they earn. The more points that they earn, the more they help keep Western North Carolina beautiful. Available service projects include river cleanups, native habitat restoration, trail workdays and more.
